Stamp Retreat Cards

Here is a quick blog post to show you the cards we will be making this weekend at my Stamp Retreat.  I enjoy getting together with friends and new stampers to share the love of paper crafting.

Stamp Retreat is a two day event that I host at my home.  Each day we create 8 cards; 4 in the morning and 4 in the afternoon.  We take a break to enjoy a potluck luncheon each day.  The weather is a bit iffy so I'm not sure if we will be able to enjoy smores over a camp fire in the evening time, but I sure hope so.

This is my first event with our new product from the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog.
I try to make my card projects fun to make that any level of paper crafter can complete.  I always show a new technique or a different way of using a punch or just cutting your Designer Series Paper.

Have you noticed lately that I am taking pictures of my cards outside?  Nature makes for a great backdrop.  Notice the phlox just above the birthday card?

Petal Promenade Designer Series paper is beautiful!  Have you discovered it yet?  You sure will want to stock up during the month of July as there will be a special being announced real soon!

This is a card where I show you that stamping on your Designer Series Paper works just as well as stamping on Whisper White or Very Vanilla card stock.

Petal Palette has always been on my wish list and I am really excited that the set carried over from last seasons catalog.

Enjoy Life stamp is a new set this year.  Beautiful fonts for the sentiment don't you think?

Daisy Delight is also another set that carried over.  With this card, I cut the card base 8 x 8 1/2 and scored at 4.  Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper is cut 2 x 4 so you can get many cards out of one sheet of paper!  The card still fits very nicely in our Whisper White Medium Envelopes.

Painted Glass is so striking!  I used Blends to color in the Vellum; Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, and Daffodil Delight are the colors here.

I hope you enjoyed viewing my blog today and I provided you a bit of inspiration.

If you are local to where I live, I do have a few seats left on Saturday and Sunday, June 23-24.  You are welcome to join us.

My entry way makes for a great photo opportunity.  Geraniums in the back add a bit of color.

Rooted in Nature is one of my favorite sets.  We have so many pine trees where I live.  The card with the sunset reminds me of the pretty sunsets we have here.

Enjoy your day, and don't forget to stamp and create today.

Dandelion Wishes and Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper

Have you ever tried stamping onto Pretty Paper instead of Whisper White or Very Vanilla card stock?  It's easy to do if you have a pattern that is lighter in shade and a more neutral pattern like the marble pattern in in Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper.
Here are the supplies I used to create this card:

Smokey Slate cut 5 ½ x 8 ½, scored at 2 1/8, 4 ¼
Basic Gray panel cut 3 ¾ x 5
Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper cut 3 5/8 x 4 7/8
Whisper White cut 4 x 5 ¼ for inside panel
Basic Gray and Blushing Bride scraps

Inks:      Smokey Slate, Blushing Bride
Punch:  Everyday Label
Embellishment:  Petal Pink Rhinestone Gems, Wink of Stella

I used a sponge dauber to add a bit of Blushing Bride to each Dandelion and then finished off with some Wink of Stella!

I sure do love how this card turned out.  The font style that is incorporated into the Dandelion Wishes stamp set is so pretty.  The curves and swooshes make the sentiments very appealing.  This stamp set is a must have for all levels of stamping. Petal Promenade Designer Series paper is another paper that you will not want to cut into, but, I challenge you to do so!  It's elegant, the colors coordinate nicely, and it's just plain beautiful.

The Petal Pink Rhinestone Gems also works well with this card.

Here is my video showing you how to create this card.

I hope you like today's card.  For more stamping inspiration, follow me on Facebook at

Enjoy Life

Have you seen the sample card on Page 59 of the 2018-2019 Stampin' Up! catalog?  Such an inspiring stamp set, Enjoy LifeConnie Fitzgerald, our Million Sales Achiever, created this stamp set.
I wanted to re-create the Stampin' Up! sample I saw from the catalog but make it my own.  I came up with just a bit of change.  I used Flirty Flamingo, Pineapple Punch, and Memento Black for inks.  Petal Pink, Shimmery White, and Whisper White for card stock.  Added in some Gold Thread and glitter enamel dots from my stock of embellishments.  Stampin' Up!'s designers used Shimmery White, Whisper White, Petal Pink, StazOn, Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Petal Pink, Daffodil Delight, Faceted Dots, Copper Thread.

You can see the water color splash I used with Flirty Flamingo and Pineapple Punch.  Blending them together created a bit of Rich Razzleberry color as well.

Here is the banner using a different sentiment from the Enjoy Life stamp set.

The Glitter Enamel Dots are a retired product, however, you can use almost any of the embellishments from the catalog or whatever you have in your stash for that extra addition to your card.

For a different look, I used the flower stems, stamping off first in Flirty Flamingo and then stamped onto the Whisper White.  The sentiment is in full strength.  Adding the Gold Thread makes it a wow factor.  If you look closely, you can see the shimmer on the cardstock.  Sparkly away!

Detailed With Love Fun Fold Card

Here is a simple quick card using Detailed With Love stamp set and one piece of Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper.  Dimensions for the card are as follows:

Soft Seaform card base cut 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, scored at 2 1/8 and 4 1/4
Blueberry Bushel cut 1 1/2 x 8 1/2, scored at 2 1/8 and 4 1/4
Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper cut 4 x 5 1/4 and 1 7/8 x 5 1/4
Whisper White panel cut 4 x 5 1/4
Scraps of Soft Seaform and Whisper White
For the card assembly, I used a bone folder to score the lines.  I then added the Garden Impressions Designer Series paper to the card.  Next I scored the strip of Blueberry Bushel and then attached to the card.
The dies are from the Layering Ovals collection.  I inked up the sentiment using Blueberry Bushel ink and then layered the scallop oval and Whisper White, then the stamped image.  Two dimensionals were added to the focal point and then attached to the card.
For the backside of the card, I used a piece of Whisper White cut 4 x 5 1/4 and then used the Detailed Trio Punch to create a fancy cutout design.  Using one of the accents from Detailed With Love, I stamped around the punch out designs.
This is a rather quick and simple Fancy Fold and will work with all of our Designer Series Paper.

Label Me Pretty With Garden Impressions

Today I am showcasing the new Designer Series Paper, Garden Impressions.  It comes measured 6x6 and the colors are bold, super exciting and fun!
I used two stamp sets designing this card; Label Me Pretty and the flower from Hold on to Hope for the envelope.  With the four sentiments from Label Me Pretty, it's easy to put together a card set for a nice gift.

Here are the paper dimensions I used for this design:

Shaded Spruce cut 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, scored at 4 1/4
Hello Honey (retired) cut 2 3/4 x 5 1/2
Garden Impressions cut 2 1/2 x 5 1/2 and a small strip cut 1/2 x 5 1/4 for the inside panel
Whisper White cut 4 x 5 1/4 for the inside panel
Hello Honey and Whisper White scraps

I'm waiting for my 2018-2019 ribbon to be delivered this week, so I had some Hello Honey satin ribbon left over and I thought this was a great addition to the card.

The Pretty Label Punch works well to highlight the focal point.

Other colors I used were Pacific Point, Night of Navy, and Melon Mambo.

Follow along and I'll show you how to put this card together.

Label Me Pretty is a carry-over from the 2017-2018 catalog.  I'm glad it's being offered again because I had my eye on it for awhile.  Happy that it's now in my craft room.

Happy stamping from Inspired By Gram!

Case a Card Rooted In Nature

One must confess... I'm not great coming up with my own card designs.  Maybe just lacking a bit of confidence.  I find searching on the internet, following blogs and my good ole friend Pinterest helps me out.
While searching for designs for Rooted in Nature, I kept coming back to a card that Mary Deatherage created at  I really liked how she used the Share What You Love Specialty Paper with this card and how the trees were layered on top of each other.

I changed the card up a bit and added Copper Embossing on the Vellum cardstock along with some Natural Chevron Ribbon (retired).  Mary used burlap on her card which is a more natural look.  Another change is that I used Wood Textures Designer Series paper and Mossy Meadow ink.
Follow along in my video if you want to recreate the card  I came up with.
Please visit Mary's website to view her card as well.  I love that in the world of Stampin' Up! we can CASE (copy and share everything).  It really does help those that struggle with designing.
If you would like to place an order for the supplies I used, please click on the Order Now button at the top of my website.  The link will take you to my online store.

For the month of June 2018, I am offering a free color swatch for all qualifying orders.  Use must use my Hostess Code DPFFU4PB.  Any order of $100 or more in product will receive my laminated color swatch free of charge.  You must use the hostess code.  Orders of $150 or more in product, do not use the hostess code so you can receive Stampin Rewards.  You will still receive the color swatch.  Make sure your contact info is shared with me so I know you placed an order and qualify.

Thank you for visiting my blog today.  Stamp and create today! ~Karen~
